FAQ

Who can enter the Raffle?

The Journeymen is unable to undertake marketing activities in States where we do not hold a licence/permit, but under QLD regulations there is no restriction applied to the sale of tickets to persons who reside in another State or Territory.

Entries are open to Australian residents aged 18 years of age or older but excludes members of The Journeymen board, employees and their immediate family.

Only tickets purchased through the raffles.journeysmen.com website are considered valid entries in the draw.

Are my raffle tickets Tax Deductible?

No, raffle tickets cannot be claimed as a tax deduction. According to Australian Tax Office guidelines, since you receive a ticket with a chance to win a prize in exchange for your transaction, it does not qualify as a donation. Consequently, your purchase is not eligible for a tax deduction.

What happens to unclaimed raffle price?

The winner of a raffle will be contacted via email or phone. If the winner cannot be reached before the next draw, the unclaimed raffle will be included in the following raffle draw, using the pool of participants from that draw.

How do we pick the winners of the raffle?

We conduct our draws manually on the draw date via barrel draw. The draw may or may not be conducted live, but the result will be published on the raffles.journeysmen.com website. The winner will be contacted within 2 working days via email or phone.

Can I choose my own ticket numbers?

We do not allocate specific ticket numbers to participants because we draw contestant details directly from the pool rather than using ticket numbers. All entries are digitally recorded in our secure system. This streamlined approach simplifies and expedites the process for everyone involved. Your entry is securely stored in our digital database, ensuring every participant is included in the drawing pool. This method allows us to manage the raffle more efficiently and keep you informed every step of the way.

Can I purchase tickets as a gift?

Tickets can be bought as a gift for someone else by entering the recipient’s personal details during the purchase process. The purchaser must ensure that the gift recipient is legally eligible to receive the raffle prizes. Regardless of who buys the ticket, the person whose name appears on the drawn ticket will be considered the “Winner” of the prize.

How will I collect my prize?

Our team will contact you for the best way for you to claim the prize. Upon the Winner’s written request, funds can be transferred electronically to any nominated account for cash prize winners.

How do I know if this isn’t a scam?

We do award the prizes as advertised to the raffle entrants. The Journeymen is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission, the national charity regulator. If you would like to ensure the legitimacy of our raffles, you are more than welcome to contact the ACNC.

Why no PayPal?

PayPal cannot be used to purchase raffle tickets. However, we offer various other payment options that we can guide you through if you wish to buy raffle tickets.

Is it safe to purchase online?

Yes, our website is secure to use due to the following features: a Security Certificate (indicated by a small padlock icon next to the website’s URL). We also use reliable payment gateways to secure any transactions on our website.
